Exercise, especially running has always felt like it was something that was for other women. For the fit people, the slim people, the motivated people, the people whose thighs didn't wobble and chests didn't hurt, the pretty people, the popular people.
Due to both physical and mental health I've had a pretty troubled relationship with exercise since I was a child and I so wish something like the Sweaty Betty Foundation had existed when I was a teenager. To make exercise accessible for every girl; whatever her size, whatever her motivation, whatever her ability.
So here I am...as a very unfit, slightly squishy around the edges non-runner with the joints of an 80 year old...taking part in a Half Marathon with the only hope or expectations of myself be that I have fun, I raise some money for a good cause and *hopefully* make it over the finish line!
