Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am training to run the Royal Park’s half marathon on 14th October 2018 to raise funds for the Virtual Doctors.
I have been running a half marathon every year since 2013. However, this race is going to be a particular challenge for me since it will be the first time I run 2 half marathon in the same year, as I already ran one in Paris in March 2018.
Also and more importantly, it will be the first time I run for a cause, which puts a bit more pressure on the training ;-) !
I chose to fundraise for the Virtual Doctors, which I have heard a lot about through my sister who is working for this charity now since 2 years.
The Virtual Doctors is a small charity delivering a telemedicine service into rural Africa, connecting isolated medical professionals to volunteer Drs in the UK and elsewhere who offer diagnostic advice to help patients presenting complex symptons be treated locally rather than being referred to distant hospitals.
£200 will pay for a smartphone to give a clinical officer in a Zambian rural health clinic access to the Virtual Doctors' service. A further £200 will pay for the internet plan required to use the service for a whole year.
Please support me through my training and to run the distance on the 14th October by making a small donation in advance on this page. Every £ will count.
