Pilgrims Virtual Hike: Inca Trail · 1 January 2022 to 31 January 2022 ·

Introducing the first in our brand new Virtual Hike World Series: Inca Trail. The challenge... to walk a marathon to Machu Picchu from, or near to, your own home throughout January.

Story

It’s been 15 years this month since our Dad passed away in a Pilgrims Hospice and as January is a tough month for many reasons, my sister and I decided to attempt to hike a marathon to Machu Picchu along the Inca Trail... virtually between 1st - 31st January to get ourselves out & about, to put all those dog walking miles to good use, to raise money for a worthy cause and to remember our Dad - as if we could ever forget him!

You can follow my progress via this interactive map here: https://www.pilgrimshospices.org/event/virtual-hike-inca-trail/ While for many of us doing our part during the current health crisis means reducing our travel, Pilgrims Hospices nurses and support staff are Still Here; Still Caring and are continuing to provide skilled and compassionate end-of-life care for people living with life-limiting illness across east Kent. By sponsoring our challenge, you'll truly be making a difference to the lives of people living with a life-limiting illness and their families.Thank you.
