One of the two charities I am raising money for is the Royal Marsden because of the amazing support they have given my family over the last 2 years.
In April 2019 my mum was diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. Her initial treatment of chemotherapy was unfortunately unsuccessful at keeping the cancer away, meaning she was put under the care of the Royal Marsden in order to receive a brand new treatment at the beginning of 2020. Whilst this was incredibly hard news for everyone to process, and a very scary time for my mum, the amazing support she received from the Marsden made it that little bit easier. After a successful cancer treatment, mum then became very unwell with Covid a couple of months later, and again was cared for by the Marsden at a time when our family could not be by her side due to restrictions. The doctors and nurses went above and beyond to ensure she received the best care both medically and emotionally through this tough and scary time. Their hard work around the clock meant my amazingly strong and wonderful mum was able to come home to us after 3 very tough months. As the hospital relies heavily on donations, every penny you can give will go towards helping the amazing work they continue to do with my mum and everyone else under their care.
