Story
Last September my mum passed away following a short battle with oesophageal cancer. For her final few weeks she was taken care of by the wonderful staff at Hospicare.
Hospicare is a local charity, caring for terminally ill patients and their families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Their teams of doctors and nurses offer free specialist palliative and end-of-life care, to ensure patients are able to make the most of the time they have left and live every day to its fullest.
They cared for my mum, and made her comfortable; she was particularly grateful for the foot massages, and was keen for us to give back in anyway we could. They created a safe and welcoming space for Luca to see his Nanny for the final time, and made it a happy memory for us all to cherish.
On Saturday I'll be taking part in the Hospiscare Summer Walk! This means putting my best foot forward and walking 7 miles, all to help raise vital funds for Hospiscare.
Hospiscare are reliant on the generosity of the community in order to keep their services going, and with costs rising, they need our help more than ever. Your support would really mean a lot to me, so please do something amazing; help make every mile count and donate today! Thank you
