I am running Royal Parks half marathon for Battersea Dogs & Cats home so they can continue to support animals in need and to say thank you for finding us our Gracie. We adopted Gracie in August 2015 from Battersea London and she has given us seven years of love, laughs and lessons. In February 2021 Gracie was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy, a degenerative spinal disease for which there is no cure. She has spent the last 20 months adapting to her increasing mobility issues like a star and being a shining example of living life to the fullest. A wheelchair and loss of the use of her back legs hasn't stopped her chasing balls, running around the woods and paddling at the beach. As we near the end of Gracie's journey I want to give back to Battersea for giving her to our family. This one's for Gracie. 

Battersea aim to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help, caring for them until their owners or loving new homes can be found, no matter how long it takes. Battersea are champions for, and supporters of, vulnerable dogs and cats, determined to create lasting changes for animals in our society.
