Bupa Great North Run 2012 · 16 September 2012 ·
Pretty please take 2 minutes to read about why you should donate :)
So i decided a few months ago it would be a great idea to apply for the Great North Run, never thinking i'd actually get accepted... But I did! So i need to raise lots of monies for my chosen charity - the Meningitis Research Foundation, a charity very close to my heart.
In 2008, i contracted bacterial meningitis, for which there is no vaccine. Luckily i fought it thanks to all the amazing doctors and nurses and the vital research of The Meningitis Research Foundation. The MRF fund the research to prevent meningitis and septicaemia, and raise awareness of the symptoms of this awful disease. Without the funding for this research, they would not be able to prevent the loss of so many lives. There is currently a vaccine on the horizon for Meningitis B - the one that takes the most lives, and your money would contribute to speeding up this process. Meningitis is a disease that deteriorates in a matter of hours, which is why it is so important that people know the symptoms - your money will also help the MRF to do this.
I need all the motivation I can get to keep up the training so please donate anything you can spare, even if it's just £1, every little helps and it all adds up! Any contribution really would mean so much to me.
If it's easier you can also text the code "VRVY97" followed by the amount you wish to donate to 70070. The text is free and 100% of your donation goes to the charity.
Thank you xx
PS - Have a read of this and tell me that you can't donate...
