Last year, my challenge of running The London Marathon for Little Havens actually happened and it was one of the most incredible days of my life.
This year I have been so lucky to once again be chosen to support a fantastic charity while fulfilling a lifelong dream.
On 1st February I will be going to Uganda for 11 days to support The Abode Project where I will be part of a team of volunteers working at the school and their boarding facilities that the charity built in Kabale in 2018.
The charity was originally launched by the founder of a house music record label and is driven by a belief in the power of music to unite communities and change lives.
The Abode Project Junior School and Boarding facility is an incredible place for education, shelter, opportunity, security, humility and unity in one of Africa's poorest areas and I feel totally privileged to have been selected to take part in this year's trip.
As part of my commitment to the trip, I need to raise £500 for resources for the project and I will also be taking two 23kg suitcases filled with donated/unwanted items from the school and community Wishlist.
These include items such as:
- Children's shoes, trainers and socks -
- ages 4-10
- Black shoe polish and brushes
- Stationary, school bags, books
- Unwanted laptops and smart phones
- Bars of soap, toilet paper
- Nail Clippers, toothbrushes
- Children's Single duvet sets
- Blankets, towels, pillowcases
- Sports equipment
- Torches, batteries, scrubbing brushes
- Paintbrushes, rollers, rolling trays
- Mosquito nets
If you think that you can help with anything on the Wishlist or would like to make a donation towards my £500 target for resources I would be very grateful.
Many thanks and lots of love.
