Story

I'm taking on 26.2 miles this April by taking part in My Marathon My Way for Sands to help save babies' lives. Your sponsorship will support research into saving lives and ensure bereaved families get the care and support they deserve. Thank you so much. You can find out more and join the challenge via the Sands website here: https://www.sands.org.uk/mymarathonmyway

We lost our beautiful baby boy Cody George Armstrong at just over 4 weeks old in February. Cody was born at 30+1 weeks and was very poorly with an ecoli infection and sepsis. The infection caused him to suffer seizures from only a few hours old, which in resulted in meningitis and severe brain damage. Cody was cared for by the amazing team at The Royal Bolton Hospital Neonatal unit, and he gave it his all to fight for his life, but unfortunately there was nothing more that could be done to save him, and he passed away peacefully in our arms. We have raised over £1000 already directly to the unit from his funeral and will continue to raise money for these charities that helped us, for the rest of our lives. Our aim is to one day run a full marathon in memory of our son that we were never able to bring home. Forever in our hearts my beautiful boy 🤍💙
