I'm running the Penllyn winter ultra for #TeamStroke!Having seen the effects of strokes directly on a few people close to me, including close family members, it makes me feel lucky to be able to do what I do and help the charity that helps survivors to cope and have a normal life by running challenges for them to raise funds and awareness. I embrace it by challenging myself all the time. I will be doing many challenges and races all through the year that will push me out of my comfort zone in different ways from 50 miles of rugged coastal paths and mountains around the Beautifully Brutal Pen Llyn, the Welsh 1000 Challenge running all summits above a 1000m height in the Snowdonia range, a marathon along Anglesey coastal paths to a big multi day event over more than a 135 miles around the unforgiving Anglesey coastal paths on the way too.
There are over 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes. Stroke Association believes everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke. Your support will help them to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments. Help me raise as much as possible to help rebuild lives after stroke - thank you!
