Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

At the age of 21 my beautiful sister Nicki was diagnosed with Leukaemia. She died 2 years later aged just 23. There were periods of time that she was very unwell but she lived her life to the absolute maximum, always smiling, always up for anything and never wallowing in any self pity.  I miss her more now than ever.

I want to run London Marathon as, London is where we all feel Nicki is, certainly her spirit, and her ashes which we scattered into the Thames.  It has long been my dream to run along the Embankment and know that she will be right there with me.  On 24th April this year I will be doing just that.

I am prepared for the blood, sweat and tears that the next few months will entail and I will stand on that start line with thousands of others, each with their own story, and feel honoured, proud and sh*t scared!

Any amount of money that I manage to raise for Bloodwise will be terrific and go towards the ongoing research to try and find a cure for blood cancers. Thank you so very much. x
