Tough Mudder North West · 13 September 2014 to 14 September 2014 ·

The Kenya Children’s Trust gives children living in Gataka (a slum on the outskirts of Nairobi) an alternative to a very desperate, and often short, life. With free schooling and a meal each day, our school provides 3-6 year olds with their first step to a better, more hopeful future.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are absolutely horrified at the thought of the tough mudder course (a very muddy 12 mile run with 20 odd obstacles from swimming through iced water to climbing over things) but am doing it to raise money for the nursery school the KCT runs in Kenya.  This is a really good cause and has rescued a number of children under 5 from poverty, street crime, drugs and prostitution.

This little nursery provides food, a safe place and an education for up to 60 young children at a time.  This has undoubtedly made a massive difference, has saved lives and has given these small children the possibility of escaping the slums for good.  The money you donate will be spent carefully on increasing the security, health and happiness of the children.

If you want to see more on the trust you can do this at the KCT web site linked on this page.

If you want to laugh at the things we are going to be made to do...
