Story
My Dad was a true inspiration, not just to me and my family but to countless friends, colleagues and fellow sportspeople. He touched so many people with his warm heart and generous spirit, and it is 10 years since Cancer took him from us.
Macmillan were incredible during his illness, and I wanted to give something back to help others in the same position.
He was a hugely keen and skilful tennis player. He taught me to play when I was small, and was a great teacher, partner and opponent on hundreds of occasions over the years. He gave me a love of the game, a love of sneaky shots, and Wortham tennis club even have a court named after him, for everything he contributed to them and the local community.
I will be playing doubles for 12 hours, with just a few minutes break every hour. I am looking for 3 new players every hour with just a £5 donation for each player. There will be fun and games throughout the day as the tennis club are also hosting an Open Day at the same time. All ages and levels are very welcome.
There will be a collection on the day as well, but if you are unable to play or come and watch, please donate if you can to this massively worthwhile cause.
Please contact Helen from Wortham Tennis Club at helen.tuckerdickson@gmail.com to book the time you wish to play. You can also select whether you wish to partner me, or be on the other side of the court.
