The Challenge
Our team is representing Emmaus, the homeless charity that works, in this year's Great Lakeland Challenge and includes Tam and Nathan, two current Companions from Emmaus Sheffield. We are trying to raise £3,900 for Wooden Spoon, a rugby charity that works with underprivileged children and young people throughout the UK.
The Great Lakeland Challenge is not going to be easy. First we must paddle the length of Windermere, England's longest lake. Then it's onto the bikes and cycle 26 miles over England's steepest mountain pass with 1:3 gradients. Finally if that wasn't enough, we then tackle a grueling climb to the summit Scafell Pike, England's highest mountain before heading back down the mountain to the finish line; an 8 mile round trip... and all in under 12 hours!
So please dig deep and donate now for this great cause.
