International Medical Corps is working to relieve the suffering of those impacted by war, disaster and disease by delivering vital healthcare services that focus on training, helping devastated populations return to self-reliance.

Story

Thank you for  visiting my fundraising page.  As some of you are aware, I've been training for the London Marathon since the start of the year.  On 26th April 2009, I plan to run (not walk!) the 42KM and raise as much money as possible for International Medical Corps (UK) and their ongoing projects in Lebanon.

IMC (www.imcworldwide.org.uk) reacts to health emergencies globally (currently responding to crises in Gaza, Zimbabwe, Congo) and takes on longer-term projects to rebuild capacity in local healthcare systems through training and development programmes (operating in 20 countries incl. Lebanon).

I am also running under the banner of Lebanon United (www.lebunited.org), a volunteer group that raises money for charities in Lebanon.  Lebanon United will be helping me to raise money for IMC.

No amount is too great or small so please give generously and, if you are able to, please come out on the day to help me get round the course!

The easiest way to sponsor me is through Justgiving - it's totally secure and IMC gets your money faster.  However, if you prefer to sponsor me offline, please send me an email (layamedawar@yahoo.com) with your address, phone number and the amount you wish to pledge.

Thank you.
