In her own words:

"I am in 36 Cheltenham (St Nicolas) Brownies and I started working towards my Charities badge. I chose CCP in Cheltenham because I wanted to raise money for people who are struggling in my community. I wrote a letter to the CEO of CCP and he wrote a letter back which was a lovely surprise. He also sent me a special pin badge that I wear. I decided to do a sponsored walk to raise money and I chose to walk the route of Cheltenham Half Marathon. I am inviting people to walk a mile with me. I have been doing some training walks with my Mum and we have walked a 4 miler, a 7 miler, and a 9 miler. I get quite tired but Mum feeds me honey sandwiches and we play music on a speaker which keeps me going"

Layla's mum here! Layla is 9 and a half and is one of life's "helpers". Her father and I are super-proud of her tenacious approach to this challenge, and we will be walking the half marathon with her (between us). We are aiming to complete the walk/scoot on Sunday 19 February 2023. I asked her how much she thought she could raise and she said "about £40? Is that ok?". I know that £40 will help the charity but I think we can raise more than that... She is aiming to walk/scoot the whole 13.1 miles but we will keep a watchful eye on her progress and health as we go around.

CCP's vision and purpose is " Our vision is of a caring, supportive and inclusive society. Our purpose is to prevent the causes and reduce the effects of homelessness, family breakdown and exclusion."
