Story
Fact: More adults under 40yo and children are killed by brain tumours than any other cancer, yet only get 1% of the national spend.
My name is Layla and tomorrow I turn double digit 10 yo weeeeeheeeyyy!!!!
I didn' know what I wanted for my birthday, it is going to feel different this year and just decided the best present I could get is for people to donate to the Brain Tumour Charity instead of buying me a present or giving money.
All I want is to make my Dad happy and him to be proud of me. I felt so sad watching my dad with his tumour and I really thought he would live. I feel really sad for other kids who will get a tumour or their mum or dad get one. I don't want them to feel sad and have to miss someone.
Please can you help me celebrate my birthday and donate whatever you can afford, even if it is just a pound.
Thanks, Layla xox

Note from Laylas Mum
Thanks for taking the time to read Laylas message. She's been working through the zero control that cancer and death brings and it looks like she has had enough and taking back some control. Way to go Layla!
Her big target is £500 to raise by the end of the year and she is already putting together a plan to submit to the school to sell slime and is busy thinking of many other ideas, savvy girl this one, got supportive friends wanting to help her too, Dad would absolutely be proud and happy already Peabert!
Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research goes on brain tumours even though they kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer, crazy...Billys tumour was the type found in children, rare and aggressive. It is down to us, the people, to help raise the money needed for research, help those living with a brain tumour and prevent further deaths. Another alarming tidbit brain tumours are on the increase.

Update : friends, family and kind hearted strangers, we salute you! It' not even lunch time and she' reached her £250.00 target already thanks to you all. The best bit is she doesn't even know yet and is going to be totally gobsmacked. A million thank yous from me and a million more from her Dad.
All your donations this morning has raised 1 days worth of research. Way to go guys!
Can' wait to see her face when she gets home from school :-)
Update Layla got her birthday wish of raising £250 before lunch. I think it would be phenomenal if we could reach her 2018 goal of £500. What do you think? We have 5 hours to go before I collect her from school. I reckon we can do it. Spread the word! Let's get another's days research money. She's going to be so happy. Thanks everyone xx
Update: Layla is now home, she had a great day and was excited for making £2 from her slime and I asked her to guess how much has been raised on here.. £130.00 was the guess and I asked her to think of a high amount and she said £170.00.
Then I told her, her eyes bulged and she didn't speak.
Besides thanking you guys I asked what message she wanted passed on..
LAYLA SAYS... thank you everyone, it means a lot to me and I hope it helps other people and one day we can find a cure. Thank you sooo much, your money is going to save lives one day. I feel so proud and I think dad would be too xxxxx
