Zombie Evacuation run · 1 October 2013 to 31 October 2013 ·

In 2025 to 2026, the Mayor of Waltham Forest, Cllr Tony Bell, will fundraise in support of three vital, local charities; Highams Park Food Hub, Haven House and Walthamstow Wetlands. The mayor will continue his efforts to raise awareness of the importance of fellowship and nature. Thank you.

Story

The Chief Executive and colleagues from his office, the Cabinet Office and Legal & Democratic Services are putting their lives on the line for you to ensure that Waltham Forest is ready for the zombie apocalypse.

The LBWF team will be outrunning zombies over a 5k assault course. It will be cold, it will be wet, it will be muddy and there will be undead.

Photographs of survivors, if any, might be available later on, and details on a zombie preparedness strategy will follow if we can work out which committee is responsible for it.

When the zombies come, we will be ready.

Plus we will be helping to provide new audio/visual equipment for the William Morris Gallery for young people to use to develop new skills, and new equipment in the Gastroenterology and Respiratory Medicine Unit at Whipps Cross, through the Mayor's Charity Appeal 2013/14.
