Story
Going through initial challenges and adversities in early life I faced the escapisms and impact these would have in later life. Open enough to receive help, supporting me through a difficult time, getting me back on my feet, to try and be the best version of myself I can be.
I have since worked in frontline services the past decade supporting those in need from homelessness, complex needs, mental health and addiction whom are wanting a different way of life, with love and support. Whilst I continue my own recovery journey and work in such fields I found that working through the pandemic stretched frontline workers and had a massive negative impact on mental health; stripping back routine, connection and self-care that helps us maintain a healthy daily routine, that we can often take for granted.
As the world began to come out of the restrictions, lockdowns and we began to connect in person and resume 'normality' I decided to organise and promote a Mental Health & Well-Being day in partnership with Lifestyles Fitness Centres in Liverpool to raise funds for an amazing mental health charity and resource service close to home, which was set up to offer support and advice in emotional and practical matters - Mary Seacole House. The event, for World Mental Health Day, to raise awareness, support local charities and celebrate all they do. Id appreciate you supporting and joining our fun to help raise as much money as possible for Mary Seacole House. Thank you.
