Leagues For Lesions - Walking Hadrian's Wall

Leagues For Lesions · 17 May 2018
Hello!
I'm Erin and I have Multiple Sclerosis. The MS Society are an invaluable organisation to those of us with MS and I want to give something back to them so that they can continue to help people with this rather crap illness.
Sooooo, I'm going to walk from one side of England to the other, following the Hadrian's Wall path (84 miles/135 km/61 Roman Leagues).
"Why Hadrian's Wall?" you might ask. Well, it's all thanks to my diagnosis...
I was diagnosed with MS 2 years ago following a bout of optic neuritis (I basically lost the sight in my left eye and had a bunch of tests for lots of different things - stroke, meningitis, etc). Following an MRI, the neurologist was talking to me about the results and said "...and we have found a number of lesions on your brain...". I was tired and misheard him and thought I had LEGIONS in my brain. I suddenly had a vision of tiny little centurions and Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo from 'Rome' in my head.
From that point my lesions have been my legions and in their honour, I'm doing something Roman. Walking Hadrian's Wall.
So, join me as I give updates on my training and preparation; the route I'll be taking; how long I plan to be out in the Northumberland wilderness and if I will take some Roman props along for the ride (if anyone wants to donate a centurion helmet or gold eagle, let me know).
Now for the small print:
