Story

Welcome to our JustGiving page! 😊

James came up with the idea to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for Diabetes UK as he sees what somebody with Type One Diabetes goes through on a daily basis. Once I got the go ahead from my Diabetes Team - I naïvely decided to join him! We wanted to take this challenge on together to support each other, but also to experience this amazing opportunity with one another.

I am type one diabetic and when I got diagnosed five years ago I never dreamt something like this would ever be remotely possible. My life was turned upside down when I was diagnosed and it has changed so much since; but thanks to all the amazing support, research and technology, I am able to live a life where my condition is a small part of my life, rather than it ruling my life.

We are both extremely excited to take on this challenge as we are so grateful for all the support, advice and research for diabetes and we would absolutely love to give something back. If you can, please please donate - any amount will make such a difference and although we are bias, it is an amazing cause. We will appreciate it more than words can describe and it will certainly help with motivating us to get up that mountain!!!

Thank you SO much in advance!

Leah and James xx
