When I signed up for #LEJOG9 it was a personal challenge to motivate me to stay active and sane during lockdown. I liked the idea of the long, resilience test as I am no speed runner! I loosely aimed to complete the 874 miles within 8 months. I am not using my daily step count, just runs and dog walks. I always wanted to be able to help others in doing it and hoped that by promoting my physical activity on social media, it might enthuse others to get out and enjoy our lovely countryside. I did not initially ask for sponsorship because it was January and bank accounts are always a bit deplete. Plus other people were doing much bigger, longer, faster and harder challenges, so I seemed a bit of a fraud! However since embarking on the challenge and only being accountable to myself so far, I have had lots of lovely friends and family ask if they can sponsor me. I have therefore set a new aim to get the challenge complete within at least 6 months and raise money for Cancer Research, a cause that has recently touched our families life and I am sure so many of yours #givewhatyoucan #worthycause #increasedmotivation
