Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My Father, Roy Nicholas, was diagnosed with a grade 4 Brain Tumour just over 2 years ago. We were advised he had a year, 2 at best to live. After major brain surgery, radiation and chemotherapy the tumour had shrunk and things seemed to be going well but then the tumour started to grow again. The second course of chemo did not work and we were advised he only had months to live. Unfortunately my Father passed away on 17th February 2015 at 6am, with me by his side. As his tumour was so aggressive he deteriorated rapidly in the last 2 weeks of his life and this is where The John Taylor Hospice came in. My Dad was a proud man and his wish was to die at home, with his family caring for him. Myself, Marie (his partner) and Josh (Step Son) could not have done this without the help of the hospice. They were with us every step of the way. Even if it was just to stay with my Dad so we could have a shower, cook food etc. they were there. We went through hell those last two weeks and I can't stress enough how much the hospice helped. We are trying to raise as much money as possible to show this.
I miss my Dad every second, he was 56 and taken from me too soon. He will never meet my children, see me get married, my heart is broken. All I can pray is that he is looking down and I am making him proud. Also, doing events like this, he will see I am always thinking of him... Always.... Running For Roy xxxxxx
