Leanne's London Marathon 2021 Fundraising Page

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
My name is Leanne, and I'm a self confessed 'cat enthusiast' (I think this sounds much better than 'crazy cat lady', don't you think?!). I've always loved cats, and currently share my life with Gizmo; my mischievous tabby cat. He is the centre of my world, and life would be very different without him. (You can follow his adventures on his blog www.kittyupthecurtain.co.uk).
I've only been running for about a year, but I do like a challenge and a deadline!
Only a year ago, the thought of running a non-stop mile seemed impossible, but since then I've proved to myself that I'm capable of far more. I never realised how much determination I had until I started running.
Being selected by the Cats Protection League to run on their behalf in the London Marathon is an honour. It also gives me a really good excuse to talk about my two favourite things (cats and running) between now and race day. I had been invited to run the marathon on Sunday 24th April 2022, but I have now been offered a place in the race on 3rd October 2021...
I ran my first half marathon in January 2021, and have now set my sights on a full marathon on 3rd October 2021 in London. I have set up a facebook page where you can follow my running journey - Search for 'From a Mile to a Marathon'.
Running a marathon is one heck of a challenge, but I know that I will find a way to succeed. With your help, I want to raise my target of £2,000 to support the fantastic work that Cats Protection League do...
The money raised will be going to a local branch of the Cats Protection League (Truro and District Branch), Cornwall.
