Coast to coast challenge

I have worked for Aspire Law, since January 6 2020. One of the main reasons why I went for the role is the fact that Aspire Law is no ordinary law firm- they are the only firm in the country who give 50% of their profit to Aspire, the charity which supports people with Spinal Cord Injuries (SCIs).

No one wants to become injured and not everyone is able to bring a legal claim for their injuries.

Aspire Law are able to assist those fortunate enough to have a claim but most importantly, their profits support a charity which in turn helps people who become injured regardless of whether they have a legal claim. 

Having worked for nearly two years at Aspire Law, this has really resonated with me and I feel I can do more for the people who are unable to claim after sustaining a spinal cord injury as their needs are the same whether a claim can be brought or not. 

Approaching my two year anniversary,  I wondered if there was anything I could do to assist with raising awareness of the fantastic charity and the fantastic services they provide. 

After much deliberation of trying to think of the best ways I, myself, could help with this and help Aspire with the services they provide, I have decided (with the help of my 12 year old!) to complete a walk of 192 miles (coast to coast) over the course of 12 weeks to raise as much money as I can for Aspire. 

Since working with Aspire Law and dealing with clients on a daily basis who have to manage with an SCI, I’ve realised how difficult it is for everyday things to be completed by them which I myself take for granted. Therefore I want to do what I can to assist in helping the charity - especially after such a hard time due to the pandemic, for the charity themselves but also for the people who sustained SCIs during this period and who have not been able to receive the usual interaction and support which is much needed. The services that Aspire provide to them are impeccable and make a huge difference to that person’s outcome for life.

I would be grateful for any little donation that can be made towards hitting my challenge target. My daughter and I are doing this as I think Aspire do a brilliant job and it is very much needed, even more so, in these continuing uncertain times. 

I will update every week on how we are both getting on and how we are doing.

The challenge starts 03 January 2022 and will be completed by 28 March 2022.
