Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm not a runner, not by any stretch. I'm not very fast or overly athletic! But I am reaping the benefits of training for my first half marathon. I feel fitter, healthier and cannot get enough of the "buzz" after a hard run. I might be a bit achy and stiff (and my stomach really objects at times!) but I'm happier now than I have been for a very long time.
Running my first half marathon is a personal goal. But it doesn't have to just be about me. Running for others is one of the most self-serving things an athlete can do. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to support a local charity.
The Antics Charity has the specific aim to raise money for children aged 18 and under, who are affected by cancer. This support can be for the child in treatment, or who has a sibling or parent in active treatment for cancer, or who has suffered a bereavement of a parent or sibling through cancer.
The Antics Charity have supported special days out for families, granting wishes such as special items to a bereaved child, supporting treatment through courses for children in remission and funding memorable holidays for families with a terminally family member.
Any donation would be to the most deserving of causes.
Thank you xx
