Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Sue was born on 27th February 1956 the eldest of 3 children she has a younger brother Gary and a younger sister Karen.
She was born in Portsmouth and lived in the area her entire life, an active member of the local community Sue held the position of Brown Owl at her local Girl Guide/ Brownie group for many years organising camps and activities for the local Girl guide population.
Sue met Steve in 1971 and they fell in love, marrying in August 1977, going on to have two children in Dean and Kelly. Football and sport in general was a massive part of Sues life her Dad Reg played and managed many local teams over the years and had the nickname Dixie after the famous Everton striker Dixie Dean. Steve was also a talented footballer representing England at schoolboy level, he went on to play local football at clubs such as Waterlooville, Fareham and Horndean.
Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996 and fought the disease bravely and with a determination that many were in awe of, she lived life to the full going on holiday still and enjoying time with her young family.
Sadly Sue passed away on 12th June 1997 aged just 41 leaving behind a heartbroken family and many friends.
Not many people come into this world and have the impact that Sue had. She touched the lives of 100s of young people in a positive way through her role with the Guides as well as being a local primary school teacher, and I know that there are people in this room tonight that Sue taught or that knew her through her role in the local community.
Sue is sorely missed by all that knew her and FFC 2023 will be an amazing tribute for an amazing lady.
