Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have now completed the Marathon des Sables 2014 & my final position was 118th out of over 1000 people who started the race. Please donate if you have not done so already & help me to reach my total of 10K for the Matt Hampson Foundation.
I know most of you are unaware that I am attempting to complete an ultra marathon across the Sahara desert in April 2014. So I will explain briefly the Battle in the Desert I will be facing during the 2014 Marathon Des Sables.
It is a 251k race set over six days whereby competitors are self-sufficient, tackling a variety of terrains including a 81.5km stage running through the night across the Sahara desert with temperatures reaching up to 120 degrees during the daytime.
I am doing this to raise money for a charity called The Matt Hampson Foundation which was created in the aftermath of Matt Hampson`s horrific accident whilst playing rugby for England U21`s.

The aim is to raise £10,000 for the foundation so that they can put it to good use helping people around the world.
The foundation provide advice, support, relief and / or treatment for anyone suffering serious injury or disability which has arisen from any cause, but in particular from participation in or training for any sport, sporting activity or other form of physical education or recreation.
All donations are gratefully accepted and they can make a huge difference to the lives of those affected.
Many thanks
Lee
