I am taking part in my first Coventry half marathon on Sunday 18th of March and hope to raise some much needed funds to say thank you to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

Those who know me will be aware that our daughter Abigail was born prematurely 16 years ago. Without the incredible care and support she received life may have been very different for our family and for that we will be forever thankful. 

The unit came back into our lives two and a half years ago when our niece gave birth to her daughter prematurely. She was lucky enough to have an outstanding unit in the city who cared for and supported her daughter Brooklyn throughout those difficult first few months of her life.

As a family, we feel so fortunate that our children are now living healthy, normal lives thanks to the dedicated and caring staff in our local NICU. I hope that I can raise as much money as possible to enable other families to access this outstanding  unit.
