We offer professional guidance and help to support British racing's workforce

Story

I'm not running a marathon. I don't have to jump out of a plane, nor am I required to climb a mountain. I don't even have to appear on Loose Women.

All I'm going to do is call a race at Newmarket as part of the Open Weekend's commentators' challenge. As such, a reason for sponsoring me is to support my impending humiliation. An even better reason is to support the marvellous charities, headed by Racing Welfare, for which this endeavour is raising valuable money.

I did once call three races at Towcester when the real commentator failed to arrive. I found myself turning into Tommo, belting out: "This is gonna be a thriller!"  So, you've been warned.

Anyway, if you would be so kind as to throw a few quid at this Racing Post journalist's mission I would be most grateful - as would many great causes.

Come Saturday, September 22, I'll channel my inner John Hanmer and hope for the best.

Thanks very much to you all.
