This September I am taking part in #HDAPlay to raise funds for the Huntington's Disease Association.   In the year 2000 my mother passed away due to the effects of Huntington's Disease, 22 years of procrastinating later I finally decided I needed to try and raise a bit of money for the HDA here on the Isle of Man..  

I was very surprised to hear that there is no way of testing for HD on Island.  When I had the test in 2002, it was a simple blood test, with a result a week later but I understand that here, someone needing a test has to travel across for it..
