Story

Well to say I’m excited about still having  a place in the Virgin London Marathon 2021 due the the cancelled 2020 race by the amazing charity Make A Wish UK is an understatement.

To push myself and try to raise even more for the charity I will be also running the Manchester marathon just ONE week after the London marathon also for Make a Wish.

Because of the pandemic the Make-a-wish team has had to put nearly 2000 wishes on hold but because of continued support from fundraisers like myself they have managed to grant over 200 wishes since lockdown which is amazing. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has already donated and supported me throughout and has helped to grant these wishes, it really does mean a lot the children and their families.

I’ve ran and fundraised for them before in London landmark half marathon in 2018 and the support and encouragement they gave me was outstanding. It’s such an honour to work with Make A Wish again and I have nothing but love and admiration for the difference they make to the life’s of serious and critically ill children and their families by granting them a wish that makes them smile and forget about there condition for a time. I’ve read most of the stories on the Make A Wish website about the wishes that have already been granted and I encourage everyone to do the same to see for yourselves the difference a wish makes, whether it been meeting a celebrity, been a police officer for a day to a family holiday for a child and their family who have spent most of their young life in and out of hospital.

I have now done a charity quiz night and make a wish party in October raising £1100 as well planing to do the postponed race night some time in the new year as well as  other fundraising events throughout the year, more details to follow.

I’m asking for all my family and friends for support in raising as much as possible to this charity I genuinely love to work with, please give what you can if you.

Make-A-Wish UK grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
Granting their wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They’re given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and given the chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever – whatever their future may hold.
We want to transform the lives of 1,000 children this year by granting their One True Wish!
