Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm taking part in this years London to Brighton bike ride in memory of my grandad John Sawford. A former royal marine commando who served his country in WW2 piloting one of the many landing craft that landed on the beaches of Normandy on D Day

He was a brilliant grandad with a great sense of humour and a caring nature. Much loved and always remembered.

He suffered two heart attacks in his later years but thanks to care from our local hospital, repair stents and the support of the BHF we were lucky enough to enjoy his company for a few extra years.

I would like like to raise money for the BHF in his memory and to support them in all they do for heart attack sufferrers.

While this 55 mile ride may be simple for some it represents a big challenge for me. Pushing 40 and overweight I have 4 months to shape up and train for this, your support and donations will ensure that I stay focused over this period to achieve this goal.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
