Story

As you all know, it has been really tough for my family this year because my dad passed away after suffering from cancer.

I wanted to do something really special in his memory. I had originally set out to run the streets of London "Run to the Beat", however, I felt taking on the PBchallenge, as a chosen ambassador by TheRunningBug.co.uk, gave me the perfect opportunity to honour him. The support from the community of runners on the running bug will help my bid to smash my PB in his memory.

The support I’m now receiving is unbelievable. I will be given specialised training plans;  support and advice from top coaches, nutritionists, and physiotherapist’s, and I have been kitted out head to toe in all the latest PUMA gear. On top of all this Kent Reliance has also paid for my trip to Dublin.

I will then attempt not only to beat my marathon time of 4hrs 58mins but Smash it with a sub 4hr time at the Dublin Marathon on October 28th.

If you're interested in seeing how I’m getting on, Follow me on Twitter @LeeM4nz where I will be sending daily tweets to let you know how it’s all going.

Thanks to everybody that has already sponsored me so far. We have raised £187.50 for cancer research which has been transferred from Virgin, (previously www.virginmoneygiving.com/KentMarathonMan) so please do not worry, your donations are safe.

Thank you all for supporting me and for supporting Cancer Research. This will go a long way towards improving chances of beating Cancer.

Its nice to see the ongoing success stories on @CR_UK twitter feed. .
