Lee Climbs Kili · 18 June 2008
In December this year the Lee Sharpe Foundation (Lee Sharpe, Greg Thomson and Colin Booth) will be going with a team from Ambassadors in Sport up the world's tallest freestanding mountain, Kilimanjaro.
We will be attempting to conquer the mountain, while drawing worldwide attention to the mountains the continent of Africa has yet to overcome: Poverty, Disease, Corrupt Leadership, and the fight to STOP HIV/AIDS in Africa!
All money raised through the climb will go towards helping AIS establish soccer academies for disadvantaged children across Africa.
Through these academies AIS holistically equip young soccer players to make good choices and thereby fulfill their potential both on and off the field.
The Lee Sharpe Foundation has been involved in supporting the Hope Academies since Lee and Greg's first visit to AIS-SA in 2006. Since then they have visited three times and Lee serves as patron to the AIS Hope Academies. Colin is looking forward to his first visit later this year.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Ambassadors in Sport gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks so much for your support!
Together we can bring Hope to Africa through soccer.
