Kev was born on March 2nd 1966, the youngest of 4 children he has 2 older brothers Barry and Graham and an older sister Pauline.
Kev was born in Portsmouth and lived in the area his entire life, a Pompey season ticket holder and proper fan who let nothing come between him and his beloved Portsmouth FC. We were at Wembley together to see the blues beat Cardiff in 2008 and again in 2010 against Chelsea.
Away from football Kev was an avid golfer and was immensely proud of the fact that he had a single figure handicap that was as low as 2. Alongside his sporting attributes kev was also the lead singer in a local punk covers band - Shotgun Smile and performed in many pubs and venues around the city.
Kev was diagnosed with cancer in August 2011 and fought the disease bravely and with a determination that to this day those that knew him are in awe of, even in his darkest moments he was still the life and soul of many family gatherings and his wicked sense of humour ensured there was never a dull moment.
Enduring countless amounts of chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants Kev fought like a true warrior and in July 2016 he was well enough to be my best man.
Sadly just 6 months later having again fought yet another brave battle Kev passed away at Rowans Hospice (Purbrook) on January 5th 2017 aged just 50.
I’ll leave you with a final memory that summed up the man that was my Uncle Kev - at his funeral he chose to go out to the Sid Vicious version of “My Way” much to the amusement of the 300+ friends and family that had gathered to say goodbye.
