This triathlon was born when Monty Halls and Rory Aitken decided mid-pandemic 2020 to do a socially distanced race. Only members of the Royal Marines family and their friends were invited to race the pilot event, each as a fully self-supported athlete and all to raise sponsorship funding for the RMA and collectively a whopping £13k was raised.

In 2021 we are opening up the race to 250 triathlon racers from all over the world. All our participants agree to join the Team Marine 2021 fundraising effort and each entrant pledges to raise £166.40 or more for the RMA. 

The Royal Marines Charity exists to help the entire Royal Marines family, offering a range of services to wounded veterans and their dependants.
