London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·

The London Marathon needs no introduction. As the most iconic marathon in the world, we want our team of Roy's Runners to hit the streets of London and raise both awareness and money so the UK's Lung Cancer Patients can expect better.

Story

Can’t believe it has been six years already so on 23rd April 2023 I will be running the London Marathon in Mum's memory with the aim of raising much needed funds for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and also to raise awareness of what this charity does for families in their time of need.

Lung cancer is by far the most common cause of cancer death in the UK, accounting for around a fifth of all cancer deaths and affects 1 in 16 of us. Your support will help aid the fight against the disease and support everyone affected by lung cancer – from diagnosis, through treatment, living with the disease and end of life care.

We only spotted my Mum's lung cancer from a persistent cough, many of the symptoms are similar to those of covid, but a useful reminder of what to look out for can be found on the Roy Castle Lung Foundation page just click here

So after a knee injury forced me out last year I've secured a ballot place and looking forward to running the marathon in aid of a very worthy cause.

Thank you for reading and thanks to everyone for their continued support, it’s really appreciated.
