I’m excited to be the face of the 1 million step challenge for Diabetes UK, helping to create a world where Diabetes can do no harm.
My Grandfather, Father and Mother in Law all had type two diabetes and and I saw first hand the effects this had on them and the changes they had to make to their food and lifestyle choices to try and manage this condition.
I’m very passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and I believe it is never to late to start.
This is a wonderful way of starting a healthy lifestyle by just walking a little bit more everyday than you usually would, maybe with the dog (I’m doing this with my dog Luna), maybe get of the bus a stop earlier on your way home or walk up a few stairs instead of taking the lift.
If you are quite sedentary at the moment then take it slow and build up over time, if you are already quite fit then go for a jog, dance a little, go up and down your stairs twice every time you need to.
Just do whatever you can to keep moving and build those steps up.
