LEELON&SABIHA TRAVELING TO LEBANON TO SUPPORT SYRIAN REFUGEES · 5 October 2021

The conflict in Syria has seen millions of people become internally displaced in Syria and refugees move to neighbouring countries such as Turkey, Lebanon, Greece, Jordan and other European countries.

Story

Asalamulikum /hello

In January 2022 we will be travelling to Lebanon to work with TEAMMC and help the vulnerable Syrian men, women and children living in makeshifts camps . Any donations will be highly appreciated and will essentially change a life. As people with the power and ability to make a change, it’s our duty to remind them they haven’t been forgotten and the world is behind them .

Myself and TEAMMC volunteers will be on the grounds to help support those in need in Lebanon. We will be distributing aid in refugee camps, visiting and supporting a school and meeting orphans that we sponsor as part of the trip. We will also be building new shelters for families ( £1000 per shelter - Zakah eligible ) as well as Distributing food packs ( £50- Zakah eligible) and winter aid.

Background info about the cause:

The Syrian civil war has resulted in conflict and violence. Millions of innocent people have been caught up in a fight that is not their own, causing devastating consequences and changing blameless lives forever. The most vulnerable members of society are at the greatest risk women, children, and the elderly. The ongoing crisis has left millions of Syrians with no choice but to flee their families and their homes, with millions more displaced and left to fend for their lives. Since the onset of the Syrian civil in March 2011, over one million Syrian refugees have fled to Lebanon.Muslim Charity has been active on the ground in Lebanon since the conflict started.
