Hilton Brighton Metropole Midsummer Ball · 25 June 2022

You Raise Me Up was founded by the Brooks family in June 2011 following the sudden, tragic loss of daughter, Megan aged just 17. The charity's purpose is to raise funds to help families that have suffered the loss of a child between the ages of 16 & 25, offering mental health & emotional support.

Story

You Raise Me Up is a local mental health and bereavement charity, based in Polegate, East Sussex. It offers invaluable support to families who have lost a young adult (16-25) and its services are in ever-increasing demand.

Leesa is the charity's CEO and Phil is a local business owner, entrepreneur and former Tony and Olivier Award winning theatre producer. Despite this, he has never danced before, but Leesa has somehow persuaded him to partner with her!

Every year the Hilton Brighton Metropole hosts a Midsummer Ball in aid of deserving local charities. As well as You Raise Me Up, this year's charities are the Starr Trust (starrtrust.org) Chestnut Tree House Sussex (chestnut-tree-house.org.uk) and Sussex Beacon (sussexbeacon.org.uk). As part of the evening's entertainment, each charity puts forward an act to compete against the others - it's good fun and fiercely competitive! This year's theme is Live From Las Vegas and we’ll be dancing to a well-known rock classic from an undisputed Vegas legend... more on that soon!

The net amount raised from the Midsummer Ball is divided between the four charities. 75% of funds from this page go to You Raise Me Up The remaining 25% and all net profits from the evening (including sponsorship, ticket sales, auction proceeds and raffle entries) is split equally between the four charities — so you’ll actually be supporting all of them.

Thank you in advance for your generosity — it means so much!
