Story
LEJOG (Land’s End to John o' Groats)
After our adventure in October 2020 cycling from Ness Point in Lowestoft (the eastern most point in England) to Land's End in 5 days solo without support, Lee and Jon have decided to go even bigger this time.
Roping in Jon’s brother Nathan on his bike, plus Alex Godfrey (Insta @alexbikemech) in a support van, these three ordinary blokes (I use “ordinary” in the loosest possible way!) are going to attempt the big one from Land’s End to John o’ Groats attempting approximately 850 miles in 12 days from 16th of May 2022.
The next question you ask is “Why do that to yourself?”
Well apart from seeing and appreciating the stunning countryside and the behemoth challenge, we are passionate about improving facilities at the Walberswick village playing fields.
The funds we raise will be set aside by the Walberswick Common Lands Charity specifically for this purpose. Our plan is to work with the Charity, our Parish Council, Natural England and the Walberswick community to come up with ideas that will improve the playing fields on Walberswick Common.
Our objective is to improve the area, making it usable and accessible to everyone in our community and to ensure the younger generation are well catered for, including their physical and social needs. Our ambition is that the facilities will become an important addition to the community, while at the same time sympathetic to the natural beauty of the Common.
We fully understand we will not be able to raise enough for this project in one “Small” cycle ride but refuse not to dream big.
We are organising and planning this trip ourselves and going on our adventure without a guide or a planned tour by a company. So we may get lost 😂
If you share our ambition for the community and would like to support us in our venture, please donate!
Thank you for your support!
