After loosing my husband 5 years ago when my son was only 9, as you can imagine, we hit some really dark times. Although I had the support of family and friends, no-one truly understood how much it changed our whole lives, every part of our being.

Joining WAY helped us to meet others in the same situation who just understood, without the need for words. After being on a weekend away with WAY for just 2 hours my son ran up to me and said "mam I love it here, there are so many kids just like me."  He didn't feel like the odd one out, the only only one who had lost a parent, he felt safe, comfortable and most of all happy. 

In the 3 years we have been with WAY we have made so many new friends, friends we would never have met if we had not lost our partners. Of course in one way we wish we didn't know each other, but circumstances have brought us together and because of this my little family is stronger and we feel part of a much bigger family, our WAY family.
