Challenge one. 5 miles a day for 30 days.

Starting 1st Feb 2010 to 2nd of March 2010

A soldier in a theatre of operations will conduct patrols every day form 1 to 5 miles and more, this challenge will simulate what they must do daily in heat and extreme conditions with the risk of getting attacked by the enemy.

Challenge two. The Reading half marathon 13.1 miles (hopefully in under 2 hours)

I served in the Army for several years and now I am a serving police officer in Reading, every day I try to make a difference to the people in my town, sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.

I have decided to try to do something more by raising awareness for our brave serving members of the forces, we all hear about the soldiers who give there lives for the greater good. But what of the ones who don't, the soldiers who get wounded and lose the use of a limb or need 24h care.

When I served I understood that one day I might not come home, but coming home with a debilitating injury was not something I considered. I was naive as far more soldiers are injured than killed in a war zone.

I understand that we are all struggling in the financial climate today but please give as much as you can spare.

I am trying to do my bit by pushing myself physically in challenges I am setting myself, if you would like to help me please donate something at this site.
