Story

Our Son Reuben was born on 06/12/2019 and made me and my wife April the happiest parents ever. We knew through the pregnancy from our 19 week scan that there was going to be some complications in the birth of Reuben and we were told he may not make it as he had a severe birth defect called a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). CDH is a birth defect when a hole in the diaphragm is formed which allows the organs to go up into the chest..  In Reubens case, this was severe as all of his organs were in his chest causing alot of pressure on his lungs which made it difficult for them to grow strong enough. We stayed positive through the pregnancy and we kept hope that our little boy would defy all odds and make it. To our devastation, Reuben passed away in our arms the following day on 07/12/2019. We will never forget our little boy and we will continue to do as much as we can to tell his story and raise more awareness for this defect. When Reuben passed away we were given a memory box filled with lots of wonderful things to ease our pain as much as possible, and we cant thank 4Louis enough for that... we wrapped Reuben in the blanket that they had given us and we received 2 teddy's from them, one has stayed with us and the other has stayed with Reuben when we buried him. We recieved hand and foot casts which we will cherish for our lives and we also recieved keyrings which had removable hearts and they also went with Reuben in each of his hands, so we know he is with us wherever we go.

I have had the opportunity of playing in a football match at St James Park on Sunday 31st May 2020 and I have to raise £150 to do so. For me it's a dream come true as I'm a massive Newcastle United fan but, its came under circumstances I would never wish on anyone, if it wasnt for Reuben and Louis I would never have this opportunity. So i will give my all for the two boys as they deserve nothing more than that. It's just so cruel as they should be here cheering on.
