Story
Oxford Brookes Campus, 14th July 2012, 10am - 5pm
Jason passed away on April 5th this year and it was Sobell House who looked after him in when he was feeling rough and helped make his journey to the end a lot more comfortable.
Jason was a great friend, a paramedic, a husband and an actor whose life was cut way too short at the young age of 31.
Jason never ever complained, right up until the end. A person with great intelligence, he always had something interesting to say (both on and off the pitch) and made people laugh with his sharp sense of humour.
Never a dull moment - he was an example to follow, he’ll be missed by all those that new him.
Jason was a regular football player at Brookes and this is why the Legends of Football tournament in his being held in his memory.
The Tournament
The tournament format is pretty standard.
Teams are 6-a-side with rolling substitutes (as many as you want to bring!)
Games are 15 minutes long with no half time break.
The first games will be Group stages with each team playing each other once. (How many teams in a group will depend on how many teams enter the tournament but we’re hoping for four groups of five teams - so each team will play a minimum of four games throughout the day!)
The top two teams in the group will then progress to the knockout stage, the top team in a group plays runners up in another group. Winners then go through and play winners from another fixture etc etc… pretty standard stuff!
The cost for entry is £45 per team and all profits will be donated to Sobell House.
