Leicester Sands is a voluntary group of parents who have all experienced the death of a baby either during pregnancy or soon after birth. The exact details of our losses vary widely, but we all share the common experience of grieving for our children and trying to find a way to live with our loss. We are not a professional health team or counsellors, but parents who know and understand how devastating the death of a baby can be.

 

SUPPORT FOR ALL

Our aim is to offer support, understanding, comfort and most importantly a listening ear. Our group is there for parents, their families, friends and anyone else affected by the death of a baby, whatever the circumstances and no matter how long ago or recent the loss.

We also work very closely with our local hospitals and health professionals, trying to ensure that bereaved families receive the best possible immediate and aftercare.

Leicester Sands supplies teddy bears, inkless hand and footprint kits and memory boxes to help bereaved parents create precious memories of their newborn. We also supply support information to help parents through emotional and practical issues following a stillbirth or neonatal loss.

 

To help us run our group and provide the above items, information and training, we rely on fundraising and kind donations, so please help us in any way you can.
