When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough or often impossible. 

My father-in-law Bill died as the result of a stroke in 2014 and since then I have become more aware of how many people are affected by strokes. Major and minor. 

Fit people I know of my own age, and younger have also suffered life changing strokes, but the brain can adapt. The specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, they can rebuild even more lives.
