Story

Thanks for visiting our page!

UPDATE:

We have now completed Lands End to John O Groats after cycling a gruelling 1086 miles and spending over 83 hours in the saddle! We had numerous mechanical failures and many chains snapping but we still managed to finish on time (despite some very late nights! - we were riding until 11pm on one occasion!)

The weather was far from ideal and there were very few days when we didn't have to dig out our waterproofs! Cornwall was by far the hardest section (a 130 mile day in Scotland was a breeze compared to the first few days!)  Despite the problems we had good fun and there are no regrets for doing the ride.

We clocked up about 1500 miles in training rides so overall have cycled well over 2500 miles for the cause!

We are still accepting sponsorship so please please support our efforts by sponsoring what you can!

We are a group of 16 year olds from Ripon Grammar School, North Yorkshire, who, In August 2008, are going to cycle over 1000 miles from Lands End to John O Groats in 2 weeks. We are even going to detour to Ripon on Thursday 21st to collect our GCSE results!

We are going to do this totally independantly, carrying all our own luggage, equipment and food, without any assistance. We are paying for the accomodation (Hostels), food, equipment and travel to the start and at the end oursleves, using our own money.

We are training hard in all weather and are looking forward to the ride. However we are not just doing this for fun. We need your help to raise as much money as we can for a very wothwhile charity. PLEASE HELP US BY SPONSORING AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SUPPORTING US!
