Both of my kids Leon and Betsy Mae have needed operations at young ages, one life saving and the other hopefully life changing (time will tell). On both occasions the kids received fantastic care and attention throughout their stay at Alder Hey (old and new sites) from all members of staff there, as well as my wife and I receiving  help and support from various members of staff.

Whilst staying there you speak to other families and discuss their reasons for being there and realise how much amazing work the staff at Alder Hey do all day everyday to give the kids the best results possible.

As a way of saying thank you and giving something back to  Alder Hey I am trying to raise as much money as possible for a fantastic cause and realised I needed to do something out of my comfort zone to make it worthwhile for friends and family to put their hands in their pockets so have chosen the Liverpool half marathon as I’m sure you’ll all agree that running anything more than a tap is well out of my comfort zone, so I would appreciate any contributions that you can make to help a fantastic team of people carry on with their work and research.
